Abstract
| |
| This paper is the second report to the Executive Boards since the launch of the CIS-7 Initiative in April 2002. This Initiative was designed to increase donor awareness about the problems of these countries, and to enhance donor and country coordination. This paper presents a review of recent trends and developments in the seven low-income countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS)-Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kyrgyz Republic, Moldova, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan-with a special focus on growth and poverty, external debt and fiscal sustainability, governance and the business climate, and regional cooperation.' The paper also describes donor activities in support of reforms in these areas. |
